The Building Automation Service Technician
Key Responsibilities:
Promote, build, and maintain good customer relations
Test, inspect, calibrate, and verify system and peripheral devices. Testing to be performed according to all applicable standards and codes
Perform product and software installation and upgrades
Understand, implement, and repair building network topologies including, but not limited to, BacNET, Cbus, Modbus, and LON
Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operations according to contract requirements and shop drawings/sequence of operations, etc.
Respond to Emergency Service Calls as required, in accordance with customer contract deliverables.
May require some performance of duties outside of normal working hours as required.
You Must Have :
3 years’ firsthand experience with building automation/mechanics, security, fire or HVAC.
1 year experience using Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid Canadian driver’s license
Willingness to travel within Canada up to 10% of the time
We Value :
CFAA certification and/or CET certification is a definite asset
Technical College Diploma related to electro-mechanics, electrical engineering technologies or automated systems
Strong comprehension of Windows Operating Systems including Windows Networking
Knowledge of programming of automation system
Honeywell Installed Systems Product knowledge e.g. EBI, XL5000, CARE, ComfortPoint, XLS3000, PCs and general network knowledge. (For HVAC TECH).
Knowledge of Fire alarm system codes, NFPA guidelines, devices used and functions for FA applications. Honeywell products knowledge e.g. XLS140/3000, EBI, XLS1000, FS90. (For FIRE ALARM TECH).
Knowledge of Security systems, access control, CCTV, Digital Video and controlling software. Honeywell Product knowledge e.g. EBI/DVM, Access, CCTV, TEMALINE (For SECURITY TECH).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams.
Testing, calibrating and troubleshooting skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done.
Communication skills sufficient to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
