Job Responsibilities

Philanthropic Strategy:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop market strategies aligned to the firm’s business priorities and CR’s social impact agenda, with a focus on Careers & Skills, Business Growth & Entrepreneurship, and/or Financial Health
  • Develop and maintain a productive network of professional relationships with key government, philanthropic, business, and non-profit leaders
  • Monitor social, political and economic trends that may impact market strategies and/or philanthropic activities

Cross-Firm Integration:

  • Think creatively about the firm’s assets and tools, identify opportunities for firmwide collaboration to drive impact
  • Lead engagement with J.P. Morgan country management committees, cross-CR partners and other JPM functions (including HR, Communications) and Lines of Business, to build strong local oversight and business alignment, as well as specific plans to activate the grants portfolio amongst internal and external stakeholders to maximize awareness and visibility
  • Communicate the firm’s approach to expanding economic opportunity and GP initiatives to multiple internal constituencies;

Grantmaking and Portfolio Management:

  • Develop, manage and execute philanthropic programs end-to-end (from concept design and budgeting, approval process, execution to program closing), in collaboration with community partners, that advance the firm’s social impact objectives across six countries in Latin America
  • Provide robust budget management to maximize value of philanthropic activities
  • Understand the risk profile of the grant portfolio and propose the right level of mitigation; escalate controls issues with partners appropriately
  • Provide regular governance reporting on impact progress (both financial and non-financial contributions), produce management decks and briefings
  • Monitor grant progress and use insights from performance to shape future direct strategy; plan convening, evaluation and communications activities to amplify impact

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Deep knowledge of and experience ineconomic inclusion,with a focus on issues related to social
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in program development, implementation and/or policy in non-profit, corporate, and/or government environment
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about solving structural issues, as well as program design and implementation
  • Understanding of grant making and the non-profit sector; ability to assess track record and capacity of non-profit organizations
  • Excellent relationship management and people skills; ability to communicate (verbal and written) complex ideas and professional perspective to diverse audiences
  • Creative, flexible, and collaborative with an ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrate a high-degree of initiative; results-oriented
  • English, Spanish, and Portuguese language proficiency
