Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Design: Design mechanisms, fixtures, as well as components for injection molding. Apply principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analysis, and metrology. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing processes.

  • Drafting and Technical Print Review: Create and review technical prints, ensuring adherence to drafting rules and standards. Conduct print reviews for technical accuracy and compliance.

  • Finite Elements Analysis (FEA): Perform FEA related to design using ANSYS and/or similar software to analyze and optimize mechanical components and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and very capable working with diverse groups of engineers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong mechanical design skills, including experience with mechanisms, fixtures, and design for injection molding.

  • Very skilled in the use of CAD and EPDM systems (e.g. SolidWorks Design Software and SolidWorks ePDM)

  • Proven experience in drafting and technical print review.

  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and metrology.

  • Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry e.g., medical device

  • Experience in design for manufacturing and familiarity with various manufacturing processes.

  • Certification in GD&T.
