• Performing routine, pre- and post-storm-event field analysis of storm water, building, and grading, and environmental. permit compliance requirements for active public and private project construction sites.
• Advising on and documenting inspection findings, documenting field discussions, following up, documenting corrective actions.
• Coordinating with Environmental Compliance personnel, project owners, and Construction Contractor crews as needed regarding proper storm water BMP implementation.
• Writing detailed, timely inspection reports to document site conditions, work activities, implementation of BMPs and compliance with permit requirements
• Identifying and reporting on noncompliance issues identified in the field.
As a key member of our local office, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects to help protect our receiving streams, oceans, and environment, and to ensure our clients remain in regulatory compliance.
• CISEC or equivalent certification
• 2 years of applicable project experience, as a science-based field technician, scientist, biologist, or similar position
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build rapport
• Proficiency with Apple and Microsoft Tools, including Teams, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Word.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Understanding of City and County of Honolulu, state, and federal permits
• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Excellent technical writing and computer literacy
