Description
This people leadership role requires you to build trust with engineering partners and persistently remove ambiguity by seeking to reduce complexity. You will play a pivotal role in developing a broad organizational perspective while facilitating & executing on strategic decisions. Additionally, you will support the development of process improvement and standard operating procedures in order to achieve maturity and effectiveness in engineering programs, all while leading and growing teams of extraordinary project managers. Systems within this scope are complex, so you will not only be expected to be able to readily understand complicated and subtle interdependencies, but also to evaluate new requests and new information in light of these systems. Being able to think on your feet is important, as is the ability to thoughtfully and efficiently debate the validity of a given approach to any aspect of a project under your control. Needless to say, strong social and interpersonal skills are required for this leadership role.
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading engineering program managers in infrastructure domain
  • Strong background in software delivery, and services infrastructure engineering
  • Proficient in software development processes (SDLC), and comfortable with various project management methodologies
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, along with polished presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with proven creative & critical thinking capabilities
  • Expertise in coordination & participation in requirements gathering and design brainstorming sessions
  • Experience leading multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Successful experience managing technical / engineering program management teams, hiring excellent people, and building impactful teams
  • A history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority
  • Experience with risk analysis as well as developing, prioritizing and leading the roadmap
  • Proven record in defining processes, developing metrics and executing on them while driving program maturity and process optimization
  • Prior engineering, infrastructure, or software development project management experience for Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps strongly preferred.
Education & Experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or deep relevant industry experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,900 and $237,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
