Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of senior level engineers
- Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
- Support conceptual and detailed designs for multi-discipline projects for civil/water/wastewater/environmental infrastructure
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as architects, mechanical, structural, electrical and process
- Assist in completing civil design tasks related to:
- Site development and Site/facilities layout
- Stormwater and drainage
- Roadway and pavement
- Grading
- Erosion and sedimentation control
- Utilities and conveyance piping
- Complete tasks assigned on time, within budget, and to high level of quality
- Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications, engineering reports, engineer’s cost estimates, and quantity take-offs
- Assist in the Preparation technical documents and reports
- Assist in perform site civil design using CADD tools such as Microstation, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations and details
- Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities, as required
- Review construction submittals for conformance to contract and design documents
- Work with Excel, AutoCAD, Microstation, and other modeling tools to perform site civil calculations and designs
Here's what you'll need
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a four year degreed ABET accredited civil engineering program with a minimum of 3.3 GPA
- Familiarity in the use of CADD tools, such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess high ethical values and strong sense of commitment to self-development, team work, and desire to work in a deadline driven team environment
- Exercise judgment required in developing plans or alternatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Civil 3D or Microstation Experience
- Some experience performing stormwater design calculations, roadway and pavement design, grading and drainage design, erosion and sedimentation control design, and stormwater pollution prevention plan development and calculations
- Some experience supporting site civil design projects
