As a Control Management professional in our Asset & Wealth Management, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm

As a Control Management Associate, you'll be responsible for testing and ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation

The role sits within the First Line of Defense supporting the risk and controls management for Asset & Wealth Management. Key skills required would include – control testing, risk analysis and assessment, root cause analysis, risk issue tracking and process reviews. . Your output will be used to guide the business units toward a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols. The candidate needs to be methodical in their approach and adept at systematic documentation and reporting.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business’ risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks
  • Ensure control testing and ensuring that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
  • Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies.
  • Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an accounting, financial or quantitative discipline with minimum 3 years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
  • Key functional skills required: control testing, risk analysis and assessment, root cause analysis, risk issue tracking and issue management, reporting and process reviews. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • This role has a global outreach, and an extensive stakeholder management responsibility. Strong communication skill in English is a must, also the ability to effectively manage a wide and diverse stakeholder group.
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage and prioritize assigned tasks across several groups and team leads
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, achieve deadlines, and deliver quality results within a team environment
  • Collaborative team player able to develop meaningful and effective working relationships with fellow colleagues
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, and collaborate with business and control organization

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of intelligent automation tools – Tableau, Python, Alteryx or UI Path, or experience of partnering in a control transformation project
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial system workflow.
  • Experience using various Business Intelligence tools. Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand both strategic and tactical direction and extrapolate functional process flows and business requirements
