Job Description
As a Senior Engineering Manager (Associate Director) you will lead the tribe of 15-20 engineers, tech. leads and architects in Prague. You will oversee software projects, manage risks, and ensure team growth and satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
• Software Delivery Governance: Establish and enforce best practices for software delivery. Monitor project progress and quality.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in development and deployment.
• Team Capacity Planning: Assess team capacity and allocate resources effectively.
• Skillset Management: Evaluate and develop team members’ skills.
• Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead recruitment and ensure smooth onboarding of new team members.
• Process Standardization: Define consistent processes and tools for software development.
• Resource Allocation: Manage headcount, budget, and resource allocation.
• Support and Hypercare: Ensure seamless transition from development to production and address post-launch issues.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive hands-on coding experience.
• Proven experience in managing people.
• Proven track record in defining architecture for complex products and setting technical direction.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
• Proven experience in managing large software development efforts.
• Customer-centric problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen.
• Experience in product management, product design, or user research.
• Experience in a startup environment.
