Your Role and Responsibilities
Database Administrator are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a Database Administrator with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource data.
- Install and maintain database servers.
- Manage and monitor DR Databases.
- Manage and monitor Always on Replication servers.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
- Install, upgrade, patching and manage database servers.
- Manage database access.
- Be available for on-call support as needed.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
- Experience in Windows Server environments.
- Extensive experience with one or more database technologies
- Primary Skill: MS SQL
- Secondary Skills: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
- Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
- Advanced knowledge of Always on High Availability Group server and log shipping replication DR.
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- PowerShell scripting skills.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
