What You Will Be Doing:
  • Primarily responsible for negotiating and structuring a wide variety of commercial contracts (including review of order forms, channel agreements, cloud/SaaS and software subscription contracts, and related professional services).
  • Engage closely with the wider Legal Department spread across Asia Pacific and EMEA and Elastic’s go-to-market, finance, and compliance organization.
  • Supporting Global Legal team members on ad hoc projects – as needed.
  • Help to build and strengthen workflow processes within the Legal Team and across other Elastic departments to enable dealmaking and compliance initiatives.
  • Prepare, review, and manage a variety of legal documents and matters including customer communications.
  • Partner with sales team to support commercial transactions including strategic deals.
  • Partner with enthusiastic co-workers, combined with a company culture that is open, welcoming, and unequaled.
What You Bring Along:
  • J.D./LLM degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one state bar, with 4+ years of proven experience in the drafting and negotiation of technology contracts.
  • An ability to synthesize directions while balancing legal risks with business strategy. Candidates who have experience in-house and/or a major national or international law firm are preferred.
  • A self-starting, proactive, driven, adaptable person who can, with poise and grit, prioritize and balance projects and recalibrate advice in view of shifting priorities, legal developments, and risk tolerance.
Moreover, you have/are:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record consistently delivering outstanding, thoughtful, user-experience-focused results.
  • Prior experience representing high-growth companies is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate and function well in a distributed team environment.
  • Ability to participate in limited travel requirements.


Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.

These ranges representthe lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

The typical starting salary range for this role is:
$202,700 USD
$243,300 USD
