Responsibilities:
  • The Facilities Mgmt Group Manager will partner with Corporate Real Estate Services (CRS) and the business to develop and execute the strategy and detailed implementation plans for the Cards. This leader will fulfill a need for the Cards business to take a holistic view on our overall Real Estate strategy.
  • Manage a team of on-site Citi Realty Services (CRS) and business leads in space planning and Onboarding and set up of new businesses and individuals.
  • Prepare and present executive level updates on facilities developments, projects, and future plans on a regular cadence.
  • Develop site strategy, and work closely with CRS partners to prepare plans, gain approval and execute development and redesign work for key sites.
  • Work cross-functionally with CRS, building management, site leadership, and the business to implement technology upgrades such as Wi-Fi and video conferencing capabilities.
  • Work closely with the CWS (Citi Work Strategies) team to ensure ample hoteling space across both sites.
  • Develop growth plans and investment strategy for the Cards business efficiently and effectively resulting in overall cost savings for the business; Manage overall site budget.
  • Participate actively in the site leadership boards.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

This role will be accountable for delivering world-class real estate solutions that adhere to agreed standards and optimal costs that support the activities of Citibanamex businesses. In addition, this role will be responsible for all portfolio requirements related to the offices and data centers plus consumer banking branches, the overall management of the client relationship, and directing the infrastructure operations according to strategies developed by senior management and the Country head.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for operating and capital budgets for the Office, Operations Centers and Retail portfolios. Coordination with Finance to prepare and manage budgets with focus on identifying Risks and Opportunities.
  • Directly manage a team of assets managers covering the entire portfolio.
  • Together with the Country head, manage the relationship with the Citibanamex leadership team (businesses and support functions)
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of business, financial controls, operational functions, and technology to set the strategic direction for the Real Estate portfolio.
  • Coordinate with other (Real Estate Services) functions: Design & Construction, Transactions, Facility Management, Finance & Business Evaluation to identify, evaluate, secure approval for, and execute strategies and initiatives to optimize the footprint and reduce expenses in line with the business’ priorities.
  • Manage efforts that lead to closures, consolidations, relocations and De Novos, and cost saving initiatives that allow the firm to meet business goals and maximize the value of Citibanamex’s real estate assets. Work in partnership with the Transactions team to evaluate prospective sites.
  • Create strong partnership with Facility Manager to assure all initiatives are budgeted and executed according to business needs and brand guardrails. Understand and participate laterally to guide and/or facilitate the demanding operation of FM (facility management) as an key partner in proper Asset Management.
  • Monitor building operations and approve expense requests, as appropriate
  • Constant liaison with vendors and RES regional/ cluster and country partners to ensure that service delivery and requirements remain aligned
  • Oversight of monthly reporting of key metrics, updates and items for management attention in partnership with Functions heads.
  • Contribute to presentations, IEPs and analyses & reporting in partnership with other RES teams
  • Ensure adherence to Citi’s compliance and control framework, which includes the following:
    • Standards of conduct for employees
    • Process oversight and measurement
    • Sufficient approval authority levels
    • Appropriate skills and training for personnel
    • Testing for compliance controls
    • Manage preparedness, tracking, and execution of Continuity of Business Plan
    • Provide talent assessment and a succession plan for the next 3-5 years

Job Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of strategic real estate/property management/asset management experience, preferably in the financial services industry including experience managing a retail portfolio.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, in particular, experience communicating with all levels of management and relating complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate with business clients, internal RES partners, other Citi service providers, landlords, brokers, and other third-party service providers.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting and finance.
  • Ability to drive results with sensitivity to meeting tight timelines and cost objectives.
  • Adaptable to dynamic corporate environment and a dynamic real estate market.
  • Ability to travel (sometimes last minute) to attend to issues in the portfolio.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; background in Accounting/Finance, Engineering, or Project Management a plus
  • Knowledge of FM (Facility Management) particularities and intricate relationship with Asset Management. Experience in this related field is desirable.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point and SharePoint
