The Role

This role is equivalent to a network executive producer or commissioning editor. You will be responsible for the successful development and execution of original scripted content for the ANZ slate.

You will have a strong focus on understanding audience needs and effectively connecting creators' core vision with audience expectations. Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure distinctive, impactful projects through strong industry relationships.

  • Read, evaluate, and clearly respond to submitted scripts and creative materials in a timely and decisive manner

  • Advocate effectively for selected projects, internally and externally, providing clear and audience-focused rationale with persuasive communication.

  • Guide and influence the creative development and production process, maintaining strong creative alignment with producers, writers, directors, and talent, ensuring consistency of vision from pitch to launch.

  • Oversee the development and production journey, delivering timely creative feedback to ensure execution meets budget and schedule requirements, Netflix standards, and audience expectations.

  • Actively contribute to team operations, improving processes and efficiency as part of a collaborative, dynamic environment.

  • Work collaboratively with internal Netflix teams, including Production Management, Post Management, Legal, Product, Marketing and PR.

Skills and Capabilities
  • Creative Track Record:Extensive experience in commissioning or producing scripted content, with proven audience success.

  • Narrative Expertise:Deep understanding of storytelling, screenplay structure, and character development.

  • Industry Relationships:Strong, established connections within the ANZ creative and production community.

  • Clear Communicator:Exceptional ability to articulate strategic creative notes and handle complex conversations effectively.

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment,simultaneously assisting and/or supervising several projects in various phases of development and production (from evaluation to production through delivery)

  • Commercial Insight:Balances creative ambitions with practical business constraints, adept at managing project resources and budgets effectively.

  • Decisive:Confidently makes informed decisions, managing complexities and diverse stakeholder perspectives effectively.
