As ain Microsoft Azure’s HPC team, you will help build out hyperscale solutions to solve the most pressing problem – how to add and manage capacity in a fully automated fashion that works across multiple clouds. You will perform full-stack, emphasis on backend, engineering in order to support new types of capacity, everything from AI to supercomputing. Your software will run on many millions of machines to provide the heartbeat of the cloud. This opportunity will allow you to hone your engineering skills, architect at a global scale, and drive the national security mission of the US government. This opportunity allows a hybrid work environment wherein you can work part of the time from home. It is possible to be almost fully remote except for work being done in the secure spaces as required for the US government clouds.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience with PowerShell, C#, or C++.
• Experience working on large-scale distributed services with on-call responsibilities.
• Ability to build and influence broadly towards common goals and priorities.
• Ownership of end-to-end project lifecycle with solid project management skills.

• Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
• Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
• Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
