Under general supervision, provides the ability to lead industrial safety risk management and manufacturing evaluation for a wide variety of topics and situations. To be successful the Industrial Safety Engineer needs to have strong technical, mechanical and operational knowledge based in manufacturing. Understand industrial safety, process risk, and drive technical and management system solutions. The Industrial Safety Engineer is focused on continuous improvement of industrial and manufacturing safety risk identification, process safety programs and work processes for the site.

⦁ Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
⦁ Interprets and evaluates Safety Data Sheets for the site’s materials and products.
⦁ Provide expertise on industrial safety risk assessments and risk management processes, methods, and standards; leading industrial safety risk assessments across the site, coaching others in risk management methodology, and ensuring environmental, health and safety compliance.
⦁ Identify and oversee production process improvements with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
⦁ Provide education to employees on risk identification and drive engagement to reduce risks across the site. Promote and maintain a high level of safety consciousness among employees to instill a safety culture in the workforce.
⦁ Performs complex Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, and safe work planning/permitting.
⦁ Performs comprehensive machine guarding assessments aligned with Teva and OSHA requirements.
⦁ Assist in design reviews for proposed new and modified facilities, processes, equipment, and tooling for compliance with company, local, and federal requirements.
⦁ Develop and maintain systems to monitor EHS program performance and drive performance improvements based on leading and lagging indicators.
⦁ Respond to incidents and assist in performing incident investigations.
⦁ Understands and executes comprehensive Root Cause Analysis with corrective/preventive action reports.
⦁ Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
⦁ Leads the work of or participates in EHS project teams
⦁ Works independently with little direction from manager, self-driven and can manage multiple projects.
⦁ Uses best practices and knowledge of internal SOPs, Teva Standards, and industry best practices to help ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
⦁ Review and evaluate drafts of site production records and SOPs, and laboratory test methods for EHS impacts as needed.
⦁ Experience with building and sustaining EHS culture initiatives that drive positive leading indicator performance.
⦁ Experience working with outside contractors for various facility and equipment projects to ensure adherence to site and applicable regulatory standards.
⦁ Technical writing experience
⦁ Experienced with delivering myriad EHSS training topics.
⦁ Ergonomic assessments following RULA, NIOSH, MSD Risk assessment tools, etc.
⦁ Other job duties as assigned.
