The role of the Project Manager is to oversee all aspects of a project and is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of completion of projects on time, within budget and within the pre-defined requirements. The required tasks include and are not limited to coordination of all resources (both internal & external) and stakeholders, setting milestones and deadlines, assigning/delegating responsibilities, monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of the project(s). The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Initiating

  • By working with Global, APAC, and local Marketing/Commercial, IT, Finance, Manufacturing, Operations and other functions, define the main project charter/objective, purpose, scope and high level requirements of the project

Planning

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
  • Drive project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate/available tools
  • Communicate and obtain project scope & requirements sign-off/buy-in from stakeholders
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents

Executing, Monitoring and Controlling

  • Effectively communicate project expectations & deliverables to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with appropriate departments to estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants during project cycle
  • Set and continually manage project expectations & deliverables with team members and other stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and facilitate resolution of issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and address and resolve problem areas
  • Proactively & effectively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Reporting, Evaluation and Closing

  • Track project milestones and deliverables and potential risks/crisis
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

In this role, you’ll need …

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related business experience is required, with 4 years in project management.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is required.
  • Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.), or Process Excellence certification are an asset.
  • A PMP Certification (Project Management Professional) is preferred. Experience in one or more of the following functions: supply chain, management, marketing, and/or sales is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, finance, and resource planning is required.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional experience in project management and commercial areas is preferred.
  • Experience influencing, persuading, and building consensus in a matrix organization is required.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, sometimes requiring managing and leading without authority as needed is also required.
  • Experience planning, organizing, managing and communicating progress of multiple tasks are required. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies which achieve a strategic vision is required.
