Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years work experience in Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, or Public Policy.
    • OR Bachelor degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other relevant fieldsAND5+ years of work experience in Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Public Policy, or Government.
  • 4+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to build a strong team culture and to coach, develop and performance manage a team.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English, adept diplomatic skills with demonstrated capability to manage geopolitical challenges.
  • Proven experience as an effective external spokesperson. Must be able to proactively advance legal and policy positions through high impact external engagement in small and/or large group settings, including communications with high-level government officials, influencers and the media.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferably 15+ years as a government affairs professional with understanding/exposure to the Tech industry.
  • Demonstrated capability to build and execute public policy programs that support business growth and policy objectives.
  • Ability to deal with crisis-related short deadlines, working in high pressure situations to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, and proven agility to adapt to changing environments and demands.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop creative/simplified solutions to complex problems.

Advocacy campaigns

Manage the design and implementation of our global policy agenda through effective and goal-oriented campaign delivery. This work will involve communication and collaboration on various public policy issues related to technology and require the production of persuasive communications and outreach plans to important stakeholders and groups.

Strategic Relations

Build and maintain connections with important stakeholders and groups, with an emphasis on those influential actors that we will need to relate to in the future. This work will involve forging partnerships across industry, think-tanks, civil society, and academia.
