Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive total rewards strategies, including compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.
  • Conducting market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation and benefits offerings.
  • Overseeing the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, pension plan and other ancillary benefits.
  • Managing the annual compensation review process, including salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentive programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations related to compensation and benefits.
  • Providing guidance and support to HR business partners and managers on total rewards-related matters.
  • Analyzing and reporting on total rewards metrics to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders (HR colleagues, Business Leaders).
  • Managing local vendors to ensure the attainment of service levels required for operations.
  • Striving for continuous optimization of compensation and benefits administration and employee experience improvement.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of total rewards specialists.


To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the followingqualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) with a minimum of Seven (7) years of experience in a combination of compensation and benefits in a private, public, government, or military environment

OR

  • College Diploma in Human Resources (completed and verified prior to start) and a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in compensation and/or benefits in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources and/or Business Administration from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of experience with employment law, compensation & benefits policies, including pension plan and practices in Canada or a combination thereof in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Previous experience with pension plans for both defined benefit and defined contribution
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Proficiency using contemporary communication tools and computer skills
  • Effective communication and client-focused mindset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
