What the Candidate Will Do

• Conduct audits of Uber's safety features and processes to evaluate compliance with internal and external safety requirements
• Investigate safety incidents or product issues to identify root causes, trends, and broader systemic improvements
• Serve as a subject-matter expert and coach to other teams, improving incident investigation quality through reviews and methodological audits
• Surface key insights from audits and investigations to inform safety planning and product roadmaps
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful remediation of issues and support the continuous maturation of the SMS program

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years overall experience in Program Management
• Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with SMS frameworks, especially in regulated industries such as aviation, automotive, government, or tech
• Background in safety, compliance, data science, or engineering
• Ability to dive deep into product and incident details while communicating broader insights and implications to leadership
• Strong analytical and risk management skills, with experience in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC)
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive long-term, complex programs to maturity
• Experience working in large organizations with complex stakeholder networks
• Familiarity with conducting assurance reviews, safety audits, or operational risk assessments
• Demonstrated commitment to improving safety outcomes, with strong program management capabilities to drive ownership and resolution of identified issues

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
