The individual will be required to travel to other Countries (short term) for executing client engagements.
Primary responsibilities
- Execute the following CCaSS solutions using Global service delivery framework:
- Climate Change and Decarbonization including Net-zero Strategy and Commitments
- Energy efficiency and transition
- Clean / renewable energy integration
- Carbon offset / trading
- Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS)
- ESG reporting and Circular economy
- A proven record of excellence managing, mentoring, and upskilling a team of high-performing colleagues
- Proven track record on researching and resolving emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Provide subject matter expertise on decarbonisation and climate change areas, inter-alia, including risk frameworks, governance, management and measurement, stress testing, strategy, and regulatory expectations
- Contribute to materials, tools, and methodologies to support CCaSS proposition in client meetings, engagements, events, and broader thought leadership
- Maintain detailed knowledge of global Sustainability regulations and awareness of market trends, competitor activity and offerings
- Lead engagements, delivering high quality Sustainability solutions to our clients, including managing the delivery team
- Manage and grow GDS CCaSS services to multiple regions, with high quality service across all CCaSS engagements, by being connected, responsive and insightful internally and with clients.
- Deliver training on CCaSS methodology and other current market trends and industry issues
- Strong focus on operational excellence, efficiency, and cost. It is critical to improve overall utilization levels in GDS CCaSS, especially at senior and manager levels, while increasing overall retention and ensuring people development.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
- Post graduate degree in sustainability/environment or engineering (chemical/mechanical/civil) from reputed institutes in India with a focus on environment, sustainability, and climate change issues.
- 7–11 years of experience in the space of decarbonisation and climate change, environment, and sustainability preferably with reputed consulting firms, financial services institutions, or research firms
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations such as EBA, ECB, FED, PRA, APRA, HKMA, MAS etc., industry initiatives such as UNEPFI, Share Action, PRI, SBTI etc. and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of the issues within the Sustainability industry, such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), amongst others
- Knowledge of climate risk modelling (methodology for assessing Transition risk, Physical Risk and Paris Pathway alignment) would be a plus
- Understanding of ESG data, KPIs and data vendors and service providers would be a plus
- Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme, the Safeguard Mechanism, and the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF); as well as climate risk advisory experience such as experience with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework.
