The role is for the Climate Change & Decarbonisation services of CCaSS, with focus on the non - financial services sector. The Senior will be responsible for leading Staff and working closely with Managers on client engagements globally. The role requires analytical and problem-solving capabilities along with well-developed communication skills. The individual will be required to travel to other Countries (short term) for executing the client engagements.
This role will provide opportunities to work on advisory engagements requiring application of analytical skills to critical issues such as lowering carbon footprint of clients and building resilience for future. It will also enable the Senior to develop strong subject matter expertise in Climate Change and Decarbonisation, which are some of the leading focus areas globally for clients and associated stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities
- Execute the following CCaSS solutions using Global service delivery framework:
- Climate Change and Decarbonization including Net-zero Strategy and Commitments
- Energy efficiency and transition
- Clean / renewable energy integration
- Carbon offset / trading
- Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS)
- ESG reporting and Circular economy
- Benchmark client data to industry data to make possible recommendations for improvements
- Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of
- engagement status
- Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of
- deliverables and reports
- Identify engagement and client service issues. Research and benchmark client data to industry data. Explain
- the client's critical success factors to the engagement team.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of global Sustainability regulations and awareness of market trends, competitor activity and offerings
- Receive direction from the Manager, Senior Manager and Partner
Qualifications, skills, and experience
- Post graduate degree in sustainability/environment or engineering (chemical/mechanical/civil) from reputed institutes in India with a focus on environment, sustainability, and climate change issues.
- 3–6 years of experience in the space of climate change, environment, and sustainability preferably with reputed consulting firms, financial services institutions, or research firms
- Knowledge of relevant climate change and energy policy, legislation, guidance, and standards as well as a good understanding of the impacts of climate change
- Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including GHG Protocol, GRI, SASB etc. as well as Climate risk assessment and disclosure experience, including knowledge of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework
- Knowledge of climate risk modelling (methodology for assessing Transition risk, Physical Risk and Paris Pathway alignment) would be a plus
- Understanding of ESG data, KPIs and its data vendors / service providers would be a plus
- Understanding of sustainability issues and mega trends across various industry sectors
- Knowledge on digital tools on Sustainability/EHS if any.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
- Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary
