In this role you will be working to analyze, design and implement technical requirements of EHS Infrastructure. The position's focus will be working with Akamai teams and the software we use for DNS. You will be looking at internal DNS solutions to provide a scalable and agile DNS platform.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, and collaborating across various teams
• Applying business and technical skills to analyze, identify, design, implement and develop support processes to resolve business & operational issues
• Assisting in the development of an EHS DNS strategy that aligns with Akamai's business objectives.
• Remaining knowledgeable of trends and advancements to assess the feasibility of implementing new services, systems, and technologies
• Providing on-going engineering and Tier3 support of DNS environments globally (specifically: VMware, Azure, AWS, Linode, OpenShift)
• Evaluating, designing, and implementing tools to improve the life cycle management of the DNS and other OS
• Using system resource utilization and monitoring tools to identify potential problem areas before they result in incidents

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 or more years experience as an IaaS Enghineer and a Bachelors Degree
• Demonstrate experience working with virtual environemnts, clustering technologies and database systems
• Demonstrate knowledge working with cloud and system access and monitoring
• Have advanced familiarity with most operating system commands/utilities on Windows and/or Linux
• Have 2+ years of cloud storage experience.
• Have Advanced understanding of TCP/IP routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and high availability networking
