JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interfaces effectively with NNSA, NEST, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and other support organizations.
  • Provides “forward thinking” with leadership/technical expertise and/or project management for NEST projects (new program development, training, security, metric management, etc.).
  • Facilitates, builds, repairs, and inspects activities which may include electronic or mechanical assembly, machining, tool fabrication, and build of engineering prototypes and fixtures.
  • Manages equipment depot activities to support field training exercises ensuring a high state of readiness. Includes trouble shooting and repair of fielded equipment.
  • Continuously demonstrates compliance with project management processes.
  • Provides project management oversight to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives; communicates on a weekly basis with other program, project, and technical management regarding project status, issues, concerns, and opportunities.
  • Promotes and supports continuous improvement in the areas of build, repair, and inspection process methods.
  • Directly supervises associates and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensures effective external customer relationships are established and maintained between multiple external customers including international.
  • Ensures functionally aligned resources are workload balanced across multiple projects within the NEST departments.
You Must Have
  • 8+ years of experience related to job.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
