Job Description:

In your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Collaborate with partners to translate business challenges into Machine Learning problems.
  • Mine data and extract valuable insights within PayPal’s extensive data environment.
  • Apply cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems.
  • Work with engineers and product managers to develop and deliver end-to-end Machine Learning solutions that drive business value.
  • Analyze diverse data types to generate actionable insights.
  • Propose and lead research projects to explore new methodologies and technologies
  • Develop and maintain tools and frameworks for continuous model evaluation and enhancement.

What do you need to bring:

Education:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning and data science.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
  • Extensive experience in handling and processing large-scale datasets, including distributed computing and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with data preprocessing, featureengineering, dataaugmentation, andmodel evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with synthetic data generation tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Experience in risk domain is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
