Job Description
Staff Manager of Product Marketing
Engage with automotive telematics customers and ecosystem partners in China, including NAN makers, tier1e and OEMs
Responsible for telematics ecosystem development in China
Support auto customers RFI/REQ and oversee the execution of programs.
Minimum Qualifications
5-8 years Product Marketing or relevant work experience on automotive telematics
Understanding of modem technology and related knowledge
Knowledge of telematics market trend and competitive landscape
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Fluent in Chinese, English
Master degree in EE or Computer Engineering / Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively evangelize Qualcomm products to customers, work with customer RFI/RFQ and translate that into successful design-ins.
In collaboration with product management, sales, engineering, legal and finance teams.
Knowledge of current technology trends in automotive industry
Good relationship with NAN makers, Tier1s/Auto OEMs in China auto industry
Experience with Qualcomm automotive product lines
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 10+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Marketing, Technical or related field.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Marketing, Technical or related field.
• 10+ years of Product Marketing or related work experience.
• 7+ years of leading strategic or business performance initiatives and/or organizational change initiatives.
• 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)
• 5+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 2+ years in a leadership role with direct reports.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages expert knowledge of Product Marketing principles and best practices to set the strategic direction for products, projects, and programs across the organization that deliver on product marketing goals and objectives.
• Implements strategies and plans product positioning; drives market entry of Qualcomm product lines.
• Implements competitive product analysis, long-range plans, and objectives for specific product areas; applies product positioning strategies to persuade customers to choose Qualcomm products.
• Strategizes, implements, and oversees content creation and execution of marketing plans for Qualcomm products within and across functions that will achieve key business objectives and success metrics; peer-reviews content creation and provides feedback.
• Sources and synthesizes data to make business decisions driven by strategy to influence key stakeholders (VPs) across the organization.
• Develops strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers, and ecosystem partners to promote products and technologies.
• Manages and oversees cross-functional teams and collaborates with Product Management; meets regularly with peers and business unit to discuss product and go-to market plans.
• Acquires expert knowledge of Product Marketing field, Qualcomm products and technologies, and industry and competitive landscape by attending educational workshops and expanding personal networks within and outside of the organization.
Level of Responsibility:
• Working independently with no supervision.
• Providing supervision to other supervisors/managers who are direct reports.
• Making decisions that are critical in nature and highly impact program, product, or project success.
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.
• Overseeing budgets, schedules, and performance standards for multiple departments or functional areas.
• Exercising influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.
• Completing tasks that often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
