The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will work within cross-functional teams in the Consumer Business Group and will be responsible the development of graphic and packaging assets for our global brands. You will work with our design team to integrate graphic design development and execution of brand guidelines and their application across packaging and other key consumer-facing touchpoints to help drive best-in-class consumer experiences. You will also collaborate with production art project managers, packaging engineers, and agency partners to prepare packaging artwork files for print production. You will independently lead multiple projects, with support from the Brand Design Principals, and Creative Directors across the CBG Design Team.
Here, you will make an impact by:
- Partnering across manyfunctions/disciplineswithin 3M, and with external creative and research agencies to translate design objectives (from the marketing brief) into design objectives (in short: leads the coauthoring of the design brief)
- Produces deliverables consistent with plan objectives and strategies with limited supervision.
- Delivers design content as an individual contributor to support project goals.
- Leads regular meetings with team to review design concepts and directions and drives to final design insights and solution.
- Attends and studiesdesign/market/technologyresearch to interpret consumer feedback that assists in the completion of design requests and projects.
- Secures relevance of developed solutions and insights; references set requirements and opportunities as part of design brief.
- Creative responsible for agency relationships contributing to design, financial accountability, and results.
- Maintains highly developed knowledge of brand and 3M guidelines and ensures accurate implementation in each design project.
- Participates in design activities to learn new skills and apply them to the job.
- Demonstrates professional curiosity and explores new ways of creativity in the application of design skills to defined project goals and objectives.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the followingqualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in graphic design
- 3+ combined years of experience working in graphic design, designing solutions for consumer brand packaging and packaging systems in a private, public, government or military environment
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, Teams. Familiar with remote collaboration and cloud-based workflows.

- Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN, where in-person collaboration enhances/accelerates creativity and innovation)
