Your Responsibilities may include:
- Performing myriad duties for the Structures department, including drafting of construction plans using Microstation
- Preparing geometric and structural design calculations
- Providing construction phase services (shop drawing and RFI review, meeting minutes)
- Assisting in local bridge and tunnel inspections (taking field notes, drafting and editing final reports, organizing reports, and packaging submittals).
- Working with multiple software packages including Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam, Pdf Exchange, Mathcad, Teams, and OneNote.
- Gaining exposure to structural analysis software depending on class/work experience.
Here's what you'll need
- Be currently enrolled at an accredited university, as a Civil or Structural Engineering major.
- A demonstrated interest in civil transportation structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must work well in a group or team atmosphere.
- Excellent organization and critical thinking/problem solving skills. Must be willing to ask questions and organize thoughts or solutions during tasks.
- Be able to work independently from home, using Teams, as required.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Microstation experience is desired.
