Job Description:
This role requires prior investigative experience relating to employee misconduct, to include potential violation of PayPal’s policies and procedures, ethical misconduct, and/or criminal activity. This position also requires a self-starter with the ability to think critically and strategically when handling investigations, seeing beyond the initial facts presented and reviewing information thoroughly and in a highly organized manner to drive the investigation to conclusion. This role also requires the ability to operate independently, manage multiple competing priorities with difficult deadlines, and exhibit a sense of urgency when necessary.
In your day-to-day you will:
Lead sensitive and high-risk investigations, including conducting interviews of witnesses. Conduct deep-dive root cause analyses and identify opportunities to mitigate risk to the Company and its customers.
Lead presentations and briefings related to investigative findings and root cause analysis.
Effectively manage a case portfolio with focus on timely conclusion of end-to-end investigations, including clear, concise documentation of investigative findings and timely completion of regulatory filings, as needed.
Develop and maintain familiarity with Company products and services, and relateddata.
Build strong relationships with key partners and senior leaders. Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders as needed.
Maintain technical proficiency with several investigative tools and techniques, including both internal and external tools.
What do you need to bring:
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five years professional experience conducting investigations related to cybercrime, complex fraud/AML, insider abuse, and/or high profile/high priority events.
Experience at PayPal and institutional knowledge is preferred and valued.
Proven ability to analyze large amounts of data in order to report critical information.
Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues.
Experience working with data acquisition and forensic examination.
Advanced data query and analysis skills (SQL, BigQuery, Splunk etc.)
Witness interview experience and training a plus.
Graduate/advanced degree, professional certificate, and/or CFE designation a plus.
