Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain PayPal’s Collection and Recovery Policies and Procedures, requiring annual review and approval by various governance bodies at PayPal.
- Design industry-leading loss mitigation and collection strategies, driving constant improvement through design of experiments (DoE).
- Lead Collections and Recovery Operations teams to maximize collections effectiveness while focusing on process improvement, automation, and optimization of resources allocated. Drive a data-driven culture focused on iteration and innovation.
- Implement a Collections Process Analytics discipline, putting a risk and data-science lens on best time to call and omni-channel communication sequencing, while measuring NPS in Collections vs. established target
- Partner with Credit Risk Infrastructure & Data team to assess infrastructure needs and create a gap analysis benchmarking PayPal to industry capabilities. Design roadmap to address most critical needs.
- Develop strategic staffing roadmap, assessing best cost countries for various books of work within both Collections and Recovery, globally.
- Augment Recovery Management through introduction of new third-party agencies and increased competition between them. Institute weekly ‘horse race’ to drive agency-specific market share decisions
- Partner closely with Global Data Science and Credit Risk Analytics CoE to develop best-in-class delinquency forecasting models to drive capacity planning.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidance across loss mitigation programs, use of an automated dialer, TCPA, debt sales, and management of recovery agencies.
- Perform oversight of 1st-party and 3rd-party collections partners and servicers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in collections and recovery risk management and operations; US and International experience preferred.
- Proven track record of driving improvement in delinquency and loss performance across multiple product types, while optimizing collections and recovery expenses.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills with a focus on driving innovation and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to loss mitigation programs and collections contact strategies.
