As a Senior Database Administrator at Digital Turbine, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our database infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our database systems, with a primary focus on Postgres and MySQL databases hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with our data engineering and DevOps teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that meet our business needs.
About the Role:
- Manage and administer Postgres and MySQL databases on Google Cloud Platform.
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
- Ensure data security and compliance with industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement database schemas.
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery plans.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices.
- Provide on-call support for critical database issues, as needed.
About You:
- About You:
- 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on Postgres and MySQL.
- Hands-on experience with deploying, managing, and scaling Postgres and MySQL databases on Google Cloud SQL.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud IAM.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for database automation tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex database issues and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers and other team members.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, while also being a team player.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with database automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., ScyllaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with migration based tools such as Flyway
- Knowledge and experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Databricks
