Group Leader Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems (MMS) Pune
Your role:
The Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems group of Philips Innovation Engineering (approx. 95 FTE) is an organization, which supports the Philips Businesses in all aspects of Mechatronics system & testing equipment development (from consultancy until designing, building and Life Cycle Management). One of the main themes is Test & Verification Equipment with a specialization in applying vision technology for a wide range of inspections.
- Manage a team of more than 25 engineering professionals consisting of Mechanical Designers, Electrical Designers, System Architects, Mechatronic Technologists, Machine Vision Developers and Industrial IoT experts. Ensure that their capabilities are aligned with the long-term vision of the organization.
- Grow the current Pune team of 15 FTE to a high performing team of 25+FTE. Ensures appropriate personnel management practices regarding recruitment and selection, adequate staffing of projects, remuneration and performance appraisals, education and training and talent development.
- Establishing a network with relevant business stakeholders within Philips' Pune innovation and supply chain sectors to maximize impact and create value for Philips.
- Member of the MMS-LT and determining, in consultation with LT, the group’s objectives, policies, processes and budgets on short and long term.
You're the right fit if:
- Bachelors / MS or PhD in a relevant field including Electrical Engineering, or other related science.
- 15 plus years of experience in R&D with high level understanding of identified competences for Mechatronics and Manufacturing Systems, Expertise in any one or more identified competences.
- People Management experienceand ability to collaborate with other GLs (Global +Local), prepare proposals. Good convincing skills and overall understanding of Philips business USPs and behavior patterns is required.
- Ability to collaborate with highly skilled and experienced experts. Ability to develop new colleagues and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in Global environment and leverage local infrastructure to solve local, global problems. Ability to understand department vision and KPIs and drive those to team for maximum effectiveness.
