Please review the following job description:
Evaluate, underwrite and contract requests using tools like cash flow coverage for larger retail loan applications for credit approval consideration and facilitate the service necessary to generate and maintain service level requirements of Sheffield. Assist dealers in all aspects of financing procedures, policies and options within the risk guidelines of Sheffield and TRUIST. Effectively exhibit perfect client experience (PCE) behavior during outbound and inbound calls with external dealer/customer clients. Act as a floor leader by taking escalated dealer calls and support the other loan processors, as needed, on larger or marginal loan request and other dealer request. Work special queues as defined by Sheffield.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Process and decision credit applications to include the larger dollar request and assess risk of applicants consistent with Sheffield Loan Processing policies. Underwrite consistent with fraud processes, applying override rules and adjudicating the correct promotions for the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and approving credit under the correct advance rates.
2. Make sure all loan application, customer, dealer and collateral information is logged into loan origination system correctly and accurately.
3. Make credit decision within Sheffield service level agreement (SLA) time range of receipt of application and receipt of all pertinent information, as requested.
4. Field and service dealer/customer client questions relating to underwriting, operational or procedural details; including promotional offerings, policies, incentives, lien perfection and other general information.
5. Provide various direct mailings of current programs to dealers, as needed, in an effort to develop relationships.
6. Maximize dealer relationships and sales initiatives through tele-consulting, visiting dealer meetings and open houses.
7. Maintain working knowledge of the products that Sheffield finances and knowledge of manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRPs).
8. Review loan applications for co-approval for lenders with lower loan authority, to include handling a queue based on larger loan request.
9. Assist in the development, implementation and execution of new policies and procedures and processes related to loan processing.
10. Assist management and other departments, on an as needed basis, with periodic operational, credit research, regulatory, fraud research and other project initiatives which do not violate separation of duties principles.
11. Represent Sheffield at various trade shows, dealer open houses and dealer meetings.
12. Take escalated calls from dealers to support other lenders.
13. Assist with day-to-day training of new staff members or training in support of new initiatives.
14. Assist in the handling of special queues, as outlined by management.
15. Maintain a larger loan authority and as a result, underwrite the larger and more complicated loan request.
16. Assist in managing fraud and mitigating Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) risk by following approved policies.
17. Follow underwriting and scorecard processes to include properly documenting accounts, using the correct mitigating factors when adjudicating credit.
18. Correctly calculate long-term value (LTV) and advance rates under OEM approved guidelines. Lead fraud meeting and scribe for Credit working groups.
19. Assist with the development of Gold Track Express (GTE), robotics for underwriting and other enhancement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Five years of retail finance experience, particularly related to underwriting loans for a dealer network
3. Strong decision making and organizational skills
4. Strong verbal, analytical and written communication skills
5. Strong customer service skills, both to internal and external clients
6. Demonstrated problem-solving skills
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
8. Ability to understand larger loan request and underwrite the request in a timely fashion
9. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
