who’s passionate about architecting and developing data projects. This is a role for someone who can comfortably switch between developing data pipelines and writing blog posts, speaking in front of technical audiences.
You’ll be the bridge between our product – Control-M and our customers— helping our technical community succeed with our solutions by creating compelling technical content, gathering feedback, and cultivating a thriving ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Based on customer feedback and market trends develop data use cases primarily on cloud platforms.
- Be comfortable with learning new data technologies, particularly in the AI/ML space.
- Examples of the type of use cases you would be working on:
- Content Creation
- Write technical blog posts, tutorials, and documentation focused on real-world data engineering use cases (e.g., ETL, data lakes, Airflow, dbt, etc.)
- Develop demo applications, sample pipelines, and GitHub repos showcasing best practices
- Create video content (walkthroughs, livestreams, webinars) explaining data infrastructure topics and our product’s role in them
- Community Engagement
- Represent the company at meetups, conferences, and online events
- Manage and grow our developer community.
- Collaborate with developers, answer technical questions, and champion community-led projects
- Developer Experience
- Advocate for developers internally by surfacing product feedback and common pain points
- Collaborate with engineering and product to improve onboarding, docs, SDKs, APIs, and DX
- Build tools and utilities that help developers adopt and integrate with our platform
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, working with tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, or similar
- Strong programming skills inPython,SQL, and a good understanding of data pipelines and infrastructure
- Strong preference for experience with
Airflow. - Experience with one or more cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
- Some experience creating technical content (e.g., blog posts, conference talks, tutorials, videos)
- Solid understanding of developer communities, open-source ecosystems, and DevRel best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, community-first mindset
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with open-source contribution workflows
- Experience organizing or speaking at developer events
- Familiarity with observability or data orchestration tools
- A personal blog, GitHub portfolio, or YouTube channel showcasing your work

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,400 - $209,000
