Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Marketing, Surgical Instrumentation, Nursing, or a related health science field.
  • ≥3 years of experience in medical devices, preferably with commercial and/or clinical experience in laparoscopic surgery. Experience with general, hepatobiliary, or endoscopic surgeons is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the surgical environment, laparoscopic surgery market, and minimally invasive endoscopic techniques, as well as familiarity with sales and marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Mapping
    • Conduct market assessments in collaboration with Product Marketing to collect KOL feedback, validate assumptions, and support customer segmentation, targeting, and messaging strategies. Identify and define requirements for market development programs (e.g., demos, product evaluations) to support the introduction of new technologies.
    • Lead therapeutic market analysis for assigned therapies, covering competitor landscape, behavioral patterns, pricing, product portfolio, clinical pain points, emerging trends, techniques, clinical evidence, and objection management.
  • Product Launch
    • Collaborate with Marketing to design and implement launch plans for therapy-related products.
    • Identify opportunities within the patient care pathway and referral networks for assigned therapies, including referrers, fellows, nurses, technicians, procurement professionals, and surgeons.
    • Execute clinical and promotional activities during the launch of new technologies.
    • Gather post-launch feedback to adjust and optimize strategy.
  • Clinical Integration & Technology Start-Up
    • Identify key accounts, healthcare professionals, and business factors that significantly impact product adoption. Assess clinical needs, goals, and constraints through direct engagement with current and potential customers.
    • Coordinate technical and logistical preparation with hospital teams, including biomedical engineering, surgical instrumentation, and OR staff.
    • Set clinical performance metrics (KPIs) in collaboration with general, hepatobiliary, and endoscopic surgeons, tailored to the specific dynamics of biliary procedures.
    • Clinical Education & Procedural Support
    • Provide expert advice on the technology and therapy: clearly communicate technical features, clinical benefits, and the value proposition throughout the sales cycle.
    • Develop and execute clinical education plans for surgeons and support staff.
    • Provide procedural support in the field to ensure proper device use and troubleshoot clinical challenges.
    • Design and execute internal education programs for cross-functional company teams.
  • Commercial Strategy & Therapy Development
    • Collaborate with Sales Representatives, Account Executives, and Field Clinical Specialists during pre-sales: engage KOLs in pre-launch activities (e.g., advisory boards, product evaluations, customer insights, commercial team training) and support the commercial planning and execution process.
    • Identify and cultivate KOL relationships to drive therapy growth.
    • Lead and strengthen partnerships with relevant medical societies.
    • Facilitate coordination across surgery, endoscopy, business development, contracting, and procurement teams within institutions.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • 70% field-based (national and regional travel), 30% planning and strategic analysis.
    • Availability to travel nationally (30–75% of the time).
    • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency required.
