Are you ready to take on a pivotal role where your expertise in Data & AI and Applications will shape the future of our clients' technology landscapes? In theSolution Architecture role at Microsoft, you will be at the forefront of translating complex business requirements into innovative systems, applications, and process designs. Your role will be crucial in crafting large-scale, sophisticated technology solutions and architectures. Acting as the client's advocate, you will be the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to solve their business challenges, providing strategic direction for design activities across various projects.
In this dynamic position, you will gather invaluable insights from a diverse range of stakeholders, shaping and driving the definition and execution of projects. Your ability to define and document the architecture will be key in communicating the compelling value proposition of our business solutions. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will jointly oversee the governance of design, build, and deployment phases, ensuring seamless integration into use. You will collaborate with business sponsors and customer/partner stakeholders to gather and validate requirements and constraints, while also working with the Account or Bid Team to understand business challenges and create impactful solutions.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND extensive experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND a number of years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
OR equivalent experience.
A number of years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
Proven experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.
- Native Dutch or business level Dutch language capability
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Technical sales experience.
Project management experience.
People management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers. (please note this is an individual contributor position, but would require managing a wide virtual team)
Technical or Professional Certifications preferably in Microsoft solutionsincluding Data, Azure, AI or similar.
Understanding Customer/Partner Technical Environment
- The role will be focused on clients in the Netherlands. You should possess a robust background and experience across multiple industries, and have a good understanding of at least one industry and regulated environments.
- Gathers customer/partner insights from a broad range of stakeholders as well as the main business sponsor to shape and form both the definition and ongoing execution of projects.
- Works with customer/partner stakeholders and business sponsor to socialize both the business solution and the project approach to determine if changes are needed to the business solution.
- Uses evidence-based approach to represent the customer/partner as a customer advocate and share insights with Product Engineering teams and the business with a view to improving Microsoft technologies, products, services and offerings such that they can better meet customer/partner needs across a territory.
Architecture Design and Deployment
- Defines and documents the Architecture through an architecture description document, an architecture decisions log, and a requirements/constraints traceability matrix to communicate the value proposition of the business solution along with the project approach.
- Works with customers to understand and demonstrate business value (e.g., release of revenue, cost savings) that the business solution realizes.
- Manages and resolves ambiguity in the requirements and constraints and documents assumptions and implications where it cannot be resolved.
Practice Development
- Generates new and/or improvements to existing intellectual property. Connects gaps and patterns across business and technology areas to drive changes. Identifies which ideas should be culled, with consideration for scale across customers. Drives the re-use of intellectual property and recommends practices in both pre-sales and delivery. Participates and contributes to internal/external communities.
Thought Leadership
- Leads virtual teams around technologies and customer/partner challenges by sharing ideas, insight, and strategic, technical input with technical teams, internal communities across the field, and the larger virtual team across Microsoft using knowledge of Microsoft architectures and their context in the competitive landscape.
