Key Responsibilities & Tasks
The Revenue Recognition Specialist acts as business partner, supporting the Field / Business (Cloud Sales, Software/Maintenance sales and Services Sales)
- Responsible to secure compliance to revenue recognition standards (SAP internal revenue recognition policies and International Accounting standards) and address accounting issues.
- Proactive engagement in structuring and engineering of commercial proposals and contractual documents, in advance of deal closing, through close collaboration with the other Deal Support community members.
- Review deal approvals and ensure alignment with different stakeholders and approvers on revenue recognition issues.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with SAP internal revenue recognition policies and for enablement on revenue recognition matters into the business and other Deal Support functions.
- Participate in the monthly/ quarterly close process in working with Shared Delivery Hubs, Revenue COE Teams, Bookings Teams, Controllers and Local Chief Accountants to ensure accurate revenue recognition in Revenue Accounting Tool.
- Preparation of accounting memorandums on complex and large transactions.
- Support Corporate Audit, SOX, Compliance Teams in internal audit and compliance queries.
- Develop a strong, collaborative relationship with the stakeholders both within and outside Finance in Market Units, Region and Global.
Experience & Educational Requirements
- Good knowledge in Accounting & Revenue Recognition and at least 2 of the following functional topics:
- Financial Analysis
- Pricing
- Contracting
- Quote Support
- Legal
- Deal structuring
- Fluent written and spoken language skills English
- Education and Professional Experience
- University Degree in Accountancy / Business or Economics
- Chartered Accountant preferred
