APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Define RF HW test requirements, design and implement in-house test systems, debug and resolve issues, and manage the process to ensure Apple products conform to all applicable standards. Work with vendors, technology suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize RF parametric performance. Support the manufacturing, manufacturing test and Certification of Apple Products. Performing RF Hardware validation using RF lab equipment: Spectrum analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power Meters. Characterize Radio Frequency (RF) Receiver (Rx) and Transmitter (Tx) chains. Build and execute detailed test plans to ensure the product in compliance to worldwide regulatory requirements. Resolve 3GPP, regulatory compliance issues by making recommendations to cross functional teams (including but not limited to RF/Antenna systems). Analyze RF component behavior in cellular technologies. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,091 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Analyzing radio frequency (RF) component characteristics and behaviour in cellular technologies.
  • Experience with wireless technologies: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Global System for Mobile communications, (GSM), Universal Mobile Telecommunications
  • System (UMTS) or Long-Term Evolution (LTE); and, New Radio (NR).
  • Experience in RF Receiver (Rx) and Transmitter (Tx) chains and characterization.
  • Optimizing RF parametric performance such as Adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR), Transmitter Power, Power Added Efficiency (PAE), Input Third-Interception Point (IIP3), and Desense
  • in various operating (Envelope Tracking (ET) and Averaged Power Tracking (APT)
  • Experience measuring RF parameters, including Gain, Power, Linearity, Rx sensitivity, spurious emission, Spectrum emission Mask, maximum power reduction (MPR), S-parameter,
  • Receive band Noise (RXBN), de-sense, and noise figure tests.
  • Defining RF test conditions in automated test and bench test.
