As a Tax Operations Lead at JPMorgan & Chase Co., you will work closely with the Head of Banking Operations and your team to ensure optimal performance across all areas. Your role will be pivotal in improving customer experience and business engagement. You will analyze performance data, extract insights, and devise actions to constantly enhance team performance. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and advocating for our customers will be a key part of your role.

Job responsibilities

  • Be an expert for all tax related queries and support your team with your expert knowledge
  • Operate daily controls and tasks to ensure the department’s Regulatory Tax obligations are completed within the expected timeframes
  • Support the entire reconciliation/preparation process before reporting to tax authorities
  • Build and execute tax operations processes and controls
  • Conduct analysis and drive resolution of complex organisational problems and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Change and Technology partners to design and test system developments and updates to ensure adherence to Regulations and improvement of existing processes
  • Create and lead a high performing Tax Operations Team
  • Show passion about leading people and their personal development
  • Collaborate with various Stakeholder from different Departments to ensure our customer will get the best in class Service

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previous experience in a leadership function within tax operations
  • Working knowledge of tax duties of a Retail bank in Germany
  • Advanced regulatory knowledge of German Retail Banking landscape
  • Understanding of risks arising with Operational Tax processes and an ability to articulate these to Management
  • Fluent in German / English

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Masters degree in Accounting/Taxation
  • Highly organised with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Change Management and Process design experience
  • Project management skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
