As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 12+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• 8+ years of 4G/5G/6G systems and associated cellular standards (e.g., 3GPP NR, LTE, LTE, 3G).
• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
• 1+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages advanced Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate critical systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met.
• Performs highly complex functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software.
• Develops and analyzes highly complex system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management teams, engineering teams, etc.) to complete project work, including implementing and verifying the system.
• Develops algorithms and works on new and innovative ideas (e.g. IDFs) for a product or feature area.
• Drives triage of highly complex problems at the system level to determine root cause and presents results of testing and debugging to internal and external stakeholders.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
