Ribbon Junior Sales Engineer - EMEA

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the Sales Director to identify revenue opportunities within an identified group of named accounts and geographic territory and will help drive into new accounts using their technical knowledge of trends within the industry.
  • Develop an in depth understanding of the Ribbon product portfolio such that they can be responsible for developing and presenting product and application presentations to potential partners and customers.
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of technical responses to RFIs/RFPs (Bill of material, table of compliance, HLD etc.)
  • Meet customers, prospects and partners to present and promote the company’s portfolio.
  • Create and retain positive ongoing relationships with customers and partners.
  • Work closely with the Sales, Channels, Project Managers, PLM’s and other stake holders to identify, qualify and win new opportunities, to review customer requirements and to plan accordingly.
  • Conduct on-going technical presentations to various organizations within the assigned Service Providers to uncover future opportunities and to strengthen the business relationship.
  • Help prepare technical responses for Bids, RFI's and RFP's working with the Bids and Proposals Team.
  • Provide answers to customer enquiries concerning system software requirements, applications and provide guidance and consultation to prospective users. i.e. become the customers trusted advisor.
  • Provide high-level network architecture support and work with Professional Services to validate customer architecture.
  • Coordinate and monitor POC’s & trials.
  • Interface with customers and Ribbon engineering as issues arise, monitor bug fixes and track feature development in code releases and ensure that the relationship between Ribbon and the assigned account is strong.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences and network within the industry to keep Ribbon position and communications at a high level. Provide input to regional marketing plans and collaborate with Portfolio Marketing to share regional requirements and market insights.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and industry trends.
  • Minimum 30% Travel required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or other relevant subject.
  • Demonstrates an excellent overall understanding of the telecommunications and Service Provider industry, its products, services and technologies.
  • Virtualisation and Containers and a strong understanding of Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Security in NGNs: IPSec, VPNs, NAT/Firewalls, certificates
  • Ethernet, IP, IP routing, MPLS
  • Mobile Core network: VoLTE, 5G
  • Hosted/cloud based UC, IPBX and IP Centrex solutions
  • Interest to learn about Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other UCaaS solutions
  • Virtual Machine concepts: VMWare, KVM, Openshift, Kubernetes, Public Clouds
  • OSS & Analytics
  • Familiarity with:
    Voice: Session Border Controllers, Voice Routing
    NGN: VoIP, Video, SIP trunking, IMS, Softswitch, Application Servers
    NGN Protocols: SIP, SIP-I
  • Proven ability to present at both technical and decision-making levels in the appropriate way, articulate benefits and value propositions accordingly.
  • Existing network of in region service provider contacts - advantage
  • Engineering or Practical Engineering certification – advantage
  • Industry certifications (Cisco, Juniper, others) – advantage
  • Must be a permitted to work in country of residence within the territory.
  • Excellent team player looking to make a real impact with strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced rapidly changing environment with a hands-on mentality toward assigned tasks andresponsibilities
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results orientated, self-motivated industry professional with a good sense of humour.
  • Focused under pressure and a good lateral thinker
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Languages:

  • German and English fluent verbal and written, additional language skills will be beneficial.
