What You’ll Do
  • Review critical process metrics daily for statistical shifts from nominal and develop game plans to address
  • Identify and develop critical process monitors and metrics for Optimus manufacturing to identify and resolve key constraints to full scale production
  • Lead cross functional implementation of complex assembly processes to production
  • Guide and develop roadmaps for aggressive improvement to OEE metrics: Yield, Cycle Time, Availability, and Cost. Report metrics to upper management
  • Manage workload with a positive attitude as a team player in a collaborative work environment
  • Drive continuous improvement activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to derive data-supported root causes and propose strong countermeasures. Tableau, R-studio, Minitab, and/or JMP experience preferred. Must be able to pull data using efficient SQL queries. In the absence of available databases, must be hands on in gathering critical data as systems develop in parallel
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly, capacity for managing simultaneous activities and challenges
  • Demonstrated experience in ramping a manufacturing line. Proven history of innovation and drive to do things better, cheaper, faster in alignment with Tesla’s aggressive approach to ramping production lines
  • Desired Manufacturing Skillsets - Ignition Automation experience, familiarity with two-part adhesives, Atlas-Copco fastener rundown traces and quality detection methods. Additive manufacturing and CAD strongly preferred. Familiarity in Vision inspection systems preferred, such as Keyence 2D image inspection and profilometry
