The person hired for the position ofGlobal Operations Director, 3rd Party Manufacturing Operationswill be accountable for driving operational excellence at 3PM suppliers and developing and executing long-term strategic plans to improve performance in 3PM Operations.

Owns & leads 3PM Operations forFilling, Packaging & Converting Services
- Owns & leads 3PM Operations forFilling, Packaging & Converting Services
- Responsible for driving operational excellence at 3rd Party Manufacturers to improve quality, service, cost and inventory
- Develops and executes strategic and operational plans including establishing and managing budgets
- Owns solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems facing the 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations organization
- Applies knowledge of various 3rd Party Manufacturing techniques and practices to achieve desired results
- Reports 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations performance to upper management, direct team members, and strategic suppliers
- Establishes and enforces concepts relevant to 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations to expand and enhance business operations
- Regularly communicates with senior functional and business leaders, direct team members, and high-level external clients
- Have expertise on 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations including broad knowledge of multiple related disciplines and comprehensive understanding of 3M’s global strategy and structure
- Execute 3rd Party Manufacturing strategic plan including:
- Optimizing operations at 3PM suppliers by driving continuous improvement projects around quality, service, cost and inventory
- Executing the transition of core 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations responsibilities to your team as we stand up the 3rd Party Manufacturing Operations organization
- Develop your global team members for improved performance, skills, and career development opportunities
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Ten (10) years or more of manufacturing and/or procurement experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Four (4) years of leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Previous experience working with 3rd Party Manufacturers inFilling, Packaging & Converting Services
- Master's degree in business administration, engineering or logistics and supply chain management from an accredited institution
- Strong network and global/international experience working with world class suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, and collaboration across teams, functions, and organization
