As a Knowledge Manager in the tech industry, you have the unique but important responsibility of organizing, maintaining and disseminating technical knowledge to your organization. Knowledge Management is an essential component of tech organizations today and enables businesses to identify and utilize their most valuable asset—the collective knowledge and expertise of its employees.
As a Knowledge Manager, your job is to build, nurture and grow an organization’s knowledge base and associated processes. You will become an expert in locating and gathering information that's critical to your company. You'll also assist in the identification and evaluation of ideas or solutions and put them into practice. By collecting and analyzing data, you'll also be deducing patterns and problem-solving.
Some of your key responsibilities as a Knowledge Manager may include setting up and managing a knowledge database, developing and executing knowledge-sharing programs, providing technical and program expertise for project teams, creating processes for capturing and sharing lessons learned and discovering innovative ways to distribute organizational information. You will also act as the primary contact for questions about general, technical and program knowledge.
