Your Career

As a UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting intuitive, powerful, cohesive, and simple product experiences for Strata Cloud Manager. You would join a team of like-minded people pushing the boundaries of enterprise applications that tackle real problems in the cybersecurity space with AI. You will use your enthusiasm to drive the design processes, craft delightful and cohesive experiences, and work with team leaders to push the creative boundaries of the platform, enabling our customers to securely operate in a digital-first world.

Your Impact

• Lead end-to-end product design for complex cybersecurity workflows platform integrations.

• Drive UX strategy in partnership with Product, Engineering, and PM leadership, ensuring design decisions align with business goals, customer needs, and platform standards.

• Translate deep user insights into highly functional interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs.

• Champion consistency across the NetSec product ecosystem by contributing to and advancing our design system.

• Mentor and elevate other designers, providing thought leadership, critique, and guidance on craft, process, and strategic design thinking.

• Facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams to define user journeys, evaluate concepts, and clarify ambiguous problem spaces.

• Drive measurable outcomes through usability testing, experimentation, and user research — using data to influence product direction.

• Advocate for the customer, ensuring every design decision prioritizes clarity, security, and ease-of-use in a complex technical domain.

Your Experience

• Understand user-centered design methodologies, have strong empathy for the users, and are committed to be their fierce advocate

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $115000 - $140000/YR. Your Impact

1. Build & Environment

• Local Development: Design, automate, and maintain a seamless, containerized local development environment to ensure developers can be productive within minutes.
• Build Systems: Own and optimize all build scripts and infrastructure. Your primary metrics for success will be reducing build time , minimizing cost , and achieving near-perfect reliability .
• Dependency Management: Architect and automate our dependency management strategy to ensure secure, reproducible, and fast resolution of all third-party libraries.

2. Performance & Security

• Performance Optimization: Drive deep technical optimizations at the compiler and architectural levels to improve application performance. Implement and manage company-wide profiling tools and best practices.
• Security Hardening: Embed security into the SDLC. Integrate and manage Static Analysis (SAST) and other security tools within the build process to harden our applications from the ground up.

3. Test & Quality Automation

• Test Automation Framework: Own the strategy and infrastructure for all test automation, including Unit, Component, Integration, and Functional tests.
• Test Metrics: Define and report on key quality metrics, including Test Coverage, reliability (flakiness), and execution time .
• Failure Triage: Act as the primary owner for build and test failures. You will oversee the process of diagnosing failures , identifying the root cause, and ensuring the correct engineering team provides a timely fix.

4. CI/CD & Reporting

• Deployment Automation: Own, simplify, and secure the Continuous Deployment (CD) pipeline, enabling engineering teams to release features safely, autonomously, and frequently.
• Metrics & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards that provide clear visibility into engineering health, including code coverage , build times, test flakiness, and deployment frequency.

5. AI Tooling Integration

• Strategic AI Implementation: Act as the team's subject matter expert on AI-driven development tools .
• Prototyping & Integration: Continuously research, prototype, and integrate AI tooling to enhance all of the above responsibilities . This includes, but is not limited to:
  • AI-assisted code generation and refactoring.
  • Intelligent test case generation.
  • Automated bug detection and remediation.
  • AI-powered pipeline optimization and security analysis.

Your Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a demonstrable focus on DevOps, Developer Experience (DevEx), or Build/Tools/Platform Engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of CI/CD systems (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI) and build automation tools (e.g., Bazel, Gradle, Make, Webpack).
• Strong systems-level programming skills and experience with compiler-level optimization and performance profiling.
• Deep experience with test automation frameworks and a strong understanding of the "test pyramid" and quality metrics.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) and one compiled language (e.g., C++, Java, Rust, Go).
• Extensive experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• A proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects and influencing other senior engineers without direct authority.
• A "customer-first" mindset, where your "customers" are the other engineers in the company.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience integrating generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, or custom models) into a production engineering workflow.
• Experience building and managing large-scale, polyglot, and/or microservice-based build systems.
• Deep expertise in DevSecOps practices and automated security tooling.
• Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to monitor engineering system performance.

Compensation Disclosure

• An outstanding portfolio which demonstrates a broad range of design and product strategy across web-based and native applications and consumer experiences

• Experience using design thinking methodologies & UCD processes to drive collaboration across agile, cross-functional teams in a large organization

• Hands-on experience driving product and concept development, including generative research, storyboarding, user-journey mapping, competitive analysis, prototyping, qualitative interviews and quantitative testing

• Ability to synthesize ambiguity, bringing industry trends, research, team insights, business priorities, and partner feedback into actionable UX strategy and design execution

• Experience designing AI interfaces or other experience designing with emerging technologies

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

You’ll report directly into the Senior Manager of eBay Live and work closely with cross-functional partners in design, product, engineering, research, and marketing. You will be a primary driver advancing eBay Live to industry leadership by deeply understanding seller pain points, innovating on design solutions, and integrating Live workflows into core selling experiences.

What You'll Accomplish

• Lead design strategy, architecture, and vision for eBay Live seller experiences, enabling retention and growth in a competitive live commerce landscape.

• Drive end-to-end product design, championing service-design methodologies to define and elevate the Live seller journey (onboarding, pre-stream, in-stream, post-stream, business management).

• Collaborate with senior design, product, engineering, content, and research leadership to align roadmaps, optimize workflows, and deliver scalable solutions that benefit sellers and buyers.

• Develop and iterate advanced design prototypes and narratives that bring innovative concepts to life for testing and refinement in partnership with Research and Content teams.

• Ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA) in relation to electrical systems
• Leading site electrical infrastructure planning and renewal efforts

• Determining appropriate projects to support site capacity and utilization of electrical utilities
• Supporting site electrical staff as an on-site expert

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Ten (10) years of plant electrical engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
• Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
• Fifteen (15) years of electrical engineering in a private, public, government or military environment with responsibility for oversight of plant electrical distribution systems.
