Essential Responsibilities:

  • Complete level two quality reviews, efficiently and accurately identifying opportunities within the cases that you review, completing your reviews in a timely manner.
  • Apply analytic techniques to complex information sets in order to make logical and supported recommendations to leadership and to your direct reports on cases for reporting to regional regulatory authorities.
  • Direct and coach your team to ensure they are successful in the following daily efforts:
  • Conducting reviews of potential illegal activity or activity in violation of the regulations or PayPal policies
  • Completing a time-sensitive and meticulous analysis of each instance of potential Anti-Money Laundering activity and/or suspicious financial activity across multiple jurisdictions and countries.
  • Assessing customer profiles and large amounts of data to ensure normal and expected activity, including Acceptable Use Policy adherence and Know Your Customer efforts.
  • Documenting findings in narrative style format, in the manual and automated process case management system and prepare reports to management as required.
  • Conduct quality reviews through our Investigative Excellence program to ensure the casework of L1 investigators meets our internal quality assurance requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Regularly exercise good judgement in making decisions or recommendations in relation to case investigations and employee escalations from within your team.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and PayPal’s People Team to utilize proper corrective action procedures as required.
  • Work closely with senior leaders on projects and tasks as the business requires
  • Maintain and grow subject matter expertise in PayPal’s investigations and processes
  • Schedule, prepare, and lead 1:1 coaching, scheduled team learning sessions and leverage other best practices to ensure that you are driving interactive, engaging, and analyst-driven discussions based upon developmental needs of the team.
  • Assessing team performance and providing feedback, development opportunities and oversight of action plans aimed at improving performance as needed

Your Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst with an expertise in Payments and Cards. The ideal candidate will be adept at understanding business needs, defining requirements, and analysing complex processes to implement effective banking and/or credit solutions.

  • Work with FS clients to develop and prioritise requirements (epics and user stories) in payments and cards domain.
  • Work with FS clients to develop supporting design documentation e.g. process maps, decision papers, customer journey artefacts, business cases.
  • Have experience in using collaboration tools like confluence and JIRA.
  • Help clients align project outcomes with technology/business strategy by acting as an intermediary between business and technology stakeholders.
  • Work with Product owner and scrum team members to drive your requirements (epics and user stories) through the full delivery lifecycle (design, build, test and deploy)
  • Prepare, review, and analyse testing / test phase outputs e.g. test scenarios, defect triage etc.
  • Resolve moderate to high complexity issues that occur during the functional design process.
  • Become a subject matter resource for Payments and/or Cards domain.
  • Be a key team player in supporting other project deliverables e.g. training, non-functional testing, data mapping.
  • Stay abreast of the latest payment industry trends to drive innovation within the company.
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • 5+ years of strong experience in business analysis, requirement elicitation and writing epics and user stories with a focus on payment and cards systems.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management
  • Have knowledge and proven experience of working with IT Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (SDLC) including Waterfall & Agile
  • Excellent understanding of European payments schemes e.g. SEPA.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and approach work methodically with attention to detail.
  • Have a strong academic record including a third level degree, preferably in IT or relevant field.
  • Agile certification (CSPO) and/or BA certifications e.g. IIB

  • Completing a time-sensitive and meticulous analysis of each instance of potential Anti-Money Laundering activity and/or suspicious financial activity across multiple jurisdictions and countries.
  • Assessing customer profiles and large amounts of data to ensure normal and expected activity, including Acceptable Use Policy adherence and Know Your Customer efforts.
  • Documenting findings in narrative style format, in the manual and automated process case management system and prepare reports to management as required.
  • Conduct quality reviews through our Investigative Excellence program to ensure the casework of L1 investigators meets our internal quality assurance requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Regularly exercise good judgement in making decisions or recommendations in relation to case investigations and employee escalations from within your team.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and PayPal’s People Team to utilize proper corrective action procedures as required.
  • Work closely with senior leaders on projects and tasks as the business requires
  • Maintain and grow subject matter expertise in PayPal’s investigations and processes
  • Schedule, prepare, and lead 1:1 coaching, scheduled team learning sessions and leverage other best practices to ensure that you are driving interactive, engaging, and analyst-driven discussions based upon developmental needs of the team.
  • Assessing team performance and providing feedback, development opportunities and oversight of action plans aimed at improving performance as needed
