Internship: Junior Image Guided Therapy Consultant
Job Description

Start date: ASAP, ultimately September 2025.

Duration: at least 6 months

Type: Internship, no thesis support.

Weekly presence in hours: 32-40 hours (40 hours preferred)

As a member of IGT Europe Sales organization, you will work with experienced international Healthcare Consultants on customer projects across Europe, supporting them in their transformation journey and the optimization of their patient pathways, workflows and operational performance.

Your role

  • Project management of consulting projects and providing support with consultancy services standardization.

  • Support in customer-related material, such as consultancy service proposals, presentations, tender descriptions, etc.

  • Being a key driver in the execution (delivery) of consultancy projects for IGT Europe. Activities ranging from data analytics (e.g. to optimize operational performance), project management activities and business operational requirements (e.g. staff/patient workflow optimization).

  • Actively contribute to support IGT Europe Consulting internal and external communication, such as helping writing customer testimonials and Case studies of projects performed, and publishing them on the dedicated media.

You’re the right fit if:

  • A Bachelor/Master ’s in e.g. Healthcare, Business, Science or Engineering (with a scope of project management) – potentially with an international or healthcare focus

  • English proficiency is compulsory, additional languages could be beneficial for the role

  • Experience in project management, process improvement methodologies and/or data analytics would be an asset

  • Strong and open-minded team player who can work with various nationalities and cultures

Our intern remuneration package:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you perform a part-time internship, you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the landlord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net

  • Paid holidays per internship term.

  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop

You are expected to understand the current workflows, identify areas for improvement, and re-design new rooms and department that increase efficiency and improve the experiences of patients and staff.

Your role:
  • You will be generating sales and business development for Philips equipment through consultancy services, contributing to the total contract value and annual operating plan in the International Region, and helping to operationalize the consultancy strategy.
  • You will be actively networking at operational, managerial, and executive C-suite levels, initiating, shaping, preparing, implementing, executing, and leading projects for clients both within and beyond the individual's expertise through broader business consulting.
  • You will be managing complex programs across multiple areas of competence, making connections, and contributing to the strategic direction and competencies of the organization.
  • You will be part of the Healthcare Consultancy Services of the International Region and reporting to Abdullah Kohestani, Consultancy Services Leader.
  • The majority of your work will be in the areas of cardiovascular and neuro intervention, radiology and acute care.

You're the right fit if:
  • You have clinical experience in a hospital environment.
  • At least 5 years of Experience in facility management and renovation of Emergency/ Intensive Care Units will be preferred
  • General construction background and healthcare workflow experience
  • You have experience in program management and are familiar with lean methodologies and ways of working
  • You hold a master’s degree in a relevant healthcare field and 5+ years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience facility management
  • You have experience in designing hospital departments from programing of spatial needs to conceptual design of a department
  • Fluent level of English (written and spoken)
  • Proven track of designing healthcare spaces
  • You have good understanding of different healthcare planning and design guidelines
  • You master AutoCad and Revit design tools

  • Literature study on light sources and control mechanisms + Investigation on application requirements + Investigation of impact material choice on light source model [1.5 month]

  • Model of the light source and control loop [1.5 months]

  • Circuit design of the control loop, including monitoring/sensing circuits, feedback control loop, and light source driver [4 months]

  • Reporting and presenting results (mid-term and final evaluation) [1 month]

You're the right fit if:

  • Studying towards your master's in electrical engineering or related study;

  • Strong background in analog and/or mixed-signal circuit design;

  • English language (writing and speaking) at working proficiency.

  • Preferably at least basic knowledge of physics/photonics related to the light source;

  • Affinity with (or interest in) biomedical and photonic applications;

  • Supporting design tasks: You will develop conceptual designs alongside experienced architects, sketching on paper and in interactive digital environments.

  • Analyzing, creating and adjusting drawings: You will use AutoCAD and Revit software to create and adjust technical drawings.

  • Researching trends and sustainable solutions: You will research innovative and sustainable building methods or solutions and report on architectural trends.

  • Project support: You will help prepare project documents, presentations, and proposals and participate in project meetings.

  • Modeling: You will build 3D models digitally using Revit or SketchUp to better present design ideas.

We work integrally withing multidisciplinary teams, so you will develop broadly and gain knowledge of our other disciplines in healthcare design.


You're the right fit if:

  • Currently studying Architecture, Interior Design, or Building Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's level).

  • Knowledge of Revit and SketchUp. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Teams is also helpful. Knowledge of Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere) is a plus.

  • Interest in automation, AI implementation, sustainability, the circular economy, and health.

(Semi-) closed loop therapy systems use continuous monitoring and advanced algorithms to automate these adjustments. Our aim is to offer (semi-) closed loop therapy systems that are both adopted and found useful by caregivers.Your role:

  • Conduct literature reviews to identify adoption barriers and success factors.

  • Perform user research on selected therapy workflows.

  • Propose improved workflows exploiting (semi-) closed loop techniques.

  • Visualize the benefits of the envisioned clinical workflows with (semi-) closed loop systems.

  • Evaluate the envisioned workflows with clinical experts.

  • Develop a design framework for (semi-) closed loop systems.
