As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with JPMorgan's Technology team in Jersey City, you will join an innovative team at the intersection of software engineering and operations. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for leading the constant improvement of the availability, scalability and performance of our platforms and services.
Your main responsibilities will be to ensure that applications are available, secure, maintainable and performant. You will drive the plan to enable “DevOps” in our infrastructure, create automation and orchestration to ensure the reliability of our platform, and design and implement best practices and processes to minimize risks and achieve operational productivity.
Your role requires a combination of technical, communication and problem-solving skills. You should be able to acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our platforms, services, customers, and processes. You will have the ability to analyze and improve existing systems, as well as design new systems to meet customer needs and scale with our growth.
You should have a strong background in Linux/Unix including core concepts such as networking, operating systems, storage, and security. Knowledge of infrastructure cloud platforms, scripting languages such as Python, and infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet will be particularly advantageous in this position.
