As an integral member of the PDx Sourcing and R&D teams will be responsible for supporting the development and maintaining a lean and strategic approach to our supplier management for the R&D supply base.
Ensure all activities with external vendors are awarded and maintained in compliance with Good Clinical Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice, Standard Operating Procedures, and Corporate Policies, Guidelines and Standards.
Support the internal collaboration between R&D, Sourcing, Product Management, Supply Chain & Direct material Sourcing (commercial launch planning), Quality and regulatory organisations within the PDx business.
Support the onboarding of new suppliers onto the Approved Supplier List for the current and future business needs, identifying gaps and identifying suitable suppliers to address the business need both regionally and globally.
Support strategic sourcing strategy within the category and sub-categories within R&D to develop appropriate contracting frameworks to commercially capture the outputs and manage all ongoing performance against live agreements.
Support and manage the identification and selection process of suppliers such as CROs, CMO central labs, Imaging, ePRO, etc., and support vendors for R&D efforts such as regulatory, quality, etc..
Generates Requests for Information (RFI), Request for Quotations (RFQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP).
Coordinates bid defenses and proposal review meetings and provides analysis to project teams.
Contract lifecycle management: including support the drafting and management R&D contracts and change orders, including active negotiation of scope of work, payment terms and budgets.
Works with the sourcing team, R&D team, Clinical Project Directors, Portfolio Operations Manager and Contract Managers and or the Legal Team to support requirements and contractual needs and Change Orders.
Works with Finance on budget/forecasting needs, cash flow, project budgets, etc.
In partnership with the Quality and Supplier Quality organisations, ensures quality oversight of suppliers.
Collate and measure’s supplier performance utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Scorecard/Metric activities; and communicating.
Support supplier governance meetings and operating reviews.
Develops effective partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Identifies current trends in practices in the industry and develops a strategy around these trends that is then well communicated to internal stakeholders and implemented.
Supports and contributes to complex functional or company initiatives and special projects as identified by executive management or business need.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, together with some related industry experience.
Experience in category management and sourcing along with defining and delivering effective category strategies which achieved significant cost transformations.
Experience in pharmaceutical research operations, compliance, clinical study execution and supplier/vendor management.
Experience working within a preclinical or CRO environment would be an advantage.
Strong Interpersonal and leadership skills.
Established project management skills.
Strong business acumen and capacity to understand complex industry dynamics (supplier/partner/product relationships).
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact and partner with all levels of management in the company.
Project management skills to execute complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
Responsible for the generation, planning and overall execution of the Global QMS Excellence strategy
Responsible for the generation, planning and overall execution of new standardised processes starting Root Cause Analysis tools and “how to conduct an investigation”.
Develop the strategy and execute the roll out of the Human Error identification & prevention / HOP processes and training / education.
Define a new strategy to improve the update and adoption of Global Procedures with the removal of Local procedures which have the potential to drift from the global standard.
Define the standard of Technical writing of investigations and develop training approach to improve this across PDx.
Develop a program to facilitate a “Right First Time” approach – check lists, standardised approach, key thing to consider etc. to improve the current metrics.
Develop a new set of metrics to manage and monitor QMS records with the support of the Global Data Analyst and roll out to all departments. This should include but is not limited to Right First Time / Reject rates for records, Closed on time vs. Closed late, Number opened vs. closed in a period to assess loading and resource requirements, level loading of resources etc.
Lead the knowledge increase of the QMS systems to non GxP personnel and provide coaching to all Leads across the PDx supporting functions.
Develop continuous improvement processes to ensure that the overall QMS remains current and is aligned to the regulations
Be available to support all regulatory and internal audits across PDx as the PDx Global QMS SME
Liaise with all levels of the organization on QMS matters including QMRs.
Holistically review the QMS and provide feedback of key updates and continuous improvement opportunities
Keep up to date with latest guidelines from MHRA, FDA, EMEA and other Regulatory bodies
Previous QMS experience required and in-depth knowledge of cGMP requirements.
Demonstrated experience with applying Quality tools and knowledge of regulations and guidelines.
Experience interfacing with global regulatory agencies.
Ability to comprehend and communicate key regulatory requirements and expectations
Experience of collaboration, negotiation & conflict resolution skills
