Job Summary

As an Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, testing, and maintenance of automated test equipment used for testing electronic components and systems in medical devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our testing processes are efficient, accurate, and meet industry standards.

What a typical day looks like:

  • You will design and develop automated test equipment and test programs.
  • Conduct testing and validation of electronic components and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve testing issues.
  • Maintain and update existing test equipment and software.
  • Document test procedures, results, and any modifications made to the test systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends related to automated testing.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in automated test equipment and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Experience in electronic measurements.
  • Familiarity with PCBa schematics and equipment’s cabling schemes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required.
  • Availability to travel as needed for project requirements.

  • Develop new strategic alliances with key customers.
  • Lead a global sales team to achieve pipeline and bookings targets. Hire and train as appropriate.
  • Develop and/or Qualify leads and create and execute target account plans to understand customer/potential customers’ needs and meet with customers/potential customers virtually and in person to better understand their needs and present Flex’s capabilities
  • Prepare for and drive executive (C-level) meetings to present Flex’s value proposition.
  • Research and recognize customers’ and potential customers’ business strategy, future product plans, and expansion activities and align Flex resources where mutually beneficial.
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team and the Finance Department to control budgets within the department.
  • Assist current accounts in the development and execution of product roadmaps and act as a focal point in delivering Flex’s solutions which include concept development, industrial design, vertically integrated manufacturing of medical devices and/or equipment, and supply chain/logistics, and other services.·
  • Represent Flex Ways of Working when interacting with internal & external contacts.
  • Using company resources, create and articulate business plans for internal approval tied to quotations for customer acceptance in support of business opportunities.
  • Develop and reinforce processes and best practices for developing business.
  • Close business by negotiating contract terms with customers/potential customers.

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in a relevant field
  • Sales and Sales Leadership experience in the Medical Devices or Drug Delivery market, with a strong industry network preferred
  • Experience with complex deals and contract negotiation
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Experience with Account Planning and CRMs
  • Exceptional presentational skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time both international and domestic.

  • You will design and develop automated test systems for PCBAs and finished products (medical devices), ensuring compliance with Customer specifications and industry standards. ATEs are developed to perform various types of tests, including electronic, mechanical, and leak tests;
  • Design, implement, and optimize hardware for automated test stations, ensuring robust hardware architecture that meets testing requirements. Conduct component selection and integration for test stations, including selection of measurement instruments, fixtures, and interconnects;
  • Utilize TestStand for test application development and LabVIEW for creating custom libraries;
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot test failures across both software and hardware aspects, providing solutions to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both PCBAs and finished products, validating that all specifications and requirements are met;
  • Analyze existing test processes and recommend enhancements for increased efficiency, reliability, and throughput;
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to assure products can be tested effectively (Design For Testability), manufacturing requirements are met and adherence to internal procedures is respected;
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of station's requirements, hardware setups, specifications, and any design changes for traceability and compliance purposes;
  • Participate in project planning and manage timelines and deliverables related to ATE hardware design and development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related fiel;
  • Experience: Proven experience in testing electronics, specifically with ATE systems, TestStand, and LabVIEW;
  • Language Proficiency: Strong knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective communication with team members and stakeholders;
  • Development of test automation and equipment automation using TestStand;
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW for designing libraries and custom applications;
  • Experience in hardware design for automated test stations, including instrument integration;
  • Understanding of ATE design and development principles, including hardware integration and calibration processes;
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for both software and hardware;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying root causes of test failures;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective information exchange among team members and stakeholders;
