  • Advise Defence on the commercial, financial and contractual requirements of capability acquisition, and how to utilise private capital.
  • Balance client service delivery methods between embedded roles at the client site and virtual delivery teams working collaboratively on client transactions.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Have demonstrated commercial nous with minimum 4+ years’ experience in commercial advisory and/or transaction/project management.
  • You will need to be an Australian Citizen with / ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
  • Prior experience in complex procurement and /or corporate finance, ideally in Utilities, Resources, Infrastructure or Transport with an eagerness to grow Defence domain experience and interest.

Your key responsibilities

  • Providing a service to some of the world’s largest corporations in response to the impact of existing and emerging technology, including the growing data burden that many businesses face;
  • Help businesses navigate the digital age, alongside new trends in tax compliance and tax audit methods;
  • You will also have the opportunity to assist in implementing tax technology projects such as:
  • Intelligent Automation solutions;
  • Enterprise technology project for Tax (i.e ERP and Enterprise performance management "EPM" tools - e.g. Tagetik, SAP PaPM Anaplan, Oracle TRCS, OneStream)
  • Tax governance solutions (usually based on Microsoft SharePoint)
  • Tax analytics and reporting enhancement, including direct and indirect tax systems implementation and configuration;
  • Tax operating model transformation
  • Tax Generative AI use cases

Skills and attributes for success

  • 3 years of similar professional experience in a consulting or corporate environment;
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field;
  • Experience working in a tax compliance role
  • Business analysis skills
  • Familiarity with Tax Technology tools and platforms, data analysis software (Power BI, Tableau), automation capabilities (Alteryx), Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint or programming languages (JavaScript, Python, SQL);

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of the climate-related issues.
  • Climate and nature disclosure experience, including knowledge of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) and Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) Frameworks.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in decarbonisation approaches, climate risk and climate strategy.
  • Agility to learn and adapt on the job, ask the right questions and strive for the best solutions for clients.
