Your Impact

You will provide guidance and assist Security Sellers and Account teams within the territory in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing Cisco security product solutions, setting up demonstrations, explaining features and benefits to customers, and designing and configuring products to address specific customer security needs. We are seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer (SE) - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure to join the Data Centre, Cloud and AI Infrastructure pre-sales SE team . As a Solutions Engineer , you will lead the technical sales of our solutions across a number of high-tech verticals and AI Startup community . You will work with your sales peers to identify opportunities across your territory, understand their specific needs , and provide tailored solutions that enhance their business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of data centre technologies (including AI) and experience relaying technical concepts to a diverse audience. You’re energized by the fast-paced landscape in IT and how AI is changing the world. You love technology and thrive in solving complex problems. You are an amazing presenter and can translate complex technical scenarios into a simple east to understand message. You inspire those around to use technology in innovative ways and use a hands-on method to demonstrate your ideas. Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of technical presales experience (preferably selling Compute, Storage, and/or Network solutions).

  • Good understanding of programming/scripting languages

  • Ability to provide detailed and consumable documentation of standard methodologies for deployment around application acceleration, automation/management efficiencies, enterprise edge, and AI/ML solutions.

  • Excellent presentation skills – ability to value-sell and deliver engaging workshops to both technical and non-technical audiences on AI and/or infrastructure topics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in Data Science is a plus.

  • Experience with AI relevant infrastructure, including Networking (InfiniBand and RoCE), Storage (FC, IP and scale out) and AI accelerators (GPUs etc).

  • In-depth understanding of AI models, including but not limited to GPT, Llama, Resnet or similar.

  • Experienced with data storage and management and AI/ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch , Jupyter , NIMS and NVAIE etc)

  • Expertise in training and fine-tuning AI models on premise or in cloud environments

  • Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes etc)

• Consulting to help define the customer’s desired “To-Be” state

• Analyzing customer challenges and technical requirements

• Designing and proposing optimal Cisco solutions

• Creating proposal materials and delivering presentations

• Conducting product demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) testing

• Responding to technical inquiries

• Collaborating with domestic and global teams for strategic opportunities

• Differentiating Cisco from competitors through value-added proposals

[Required Experience and Skills]

• Strong willingness to take on new challenges

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Proactive and responsible mindset with a strong customer focus

• 10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer for network-related equipment (especially routers and switches)

• Broad knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco products and solutions

• Ability to work efficiently and lead opportunity teams from a technical perspective

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking)

• Ability to share knowledge and contribute to overall team development

[Preferred Experience and Skills]

• Pre-sales experience for enterprise customers

• Experience handling service provider products/solutions

• Capability to propose transformative solutions with a business-oriented perspective beyond networking and security infrastructure

• Advanced English proficiency (speaking and writing)

• Programming skills

• CCIE certification

Description:

As the Solutions Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for setting the technical vision and strategy for the Japan partner organization Across market segment.

This includes, but is not limited to, identifying expertise to grow the team and facilitating key partnerships between customers, partners and internal organizations. This is an ideal position for someone who has a consistent record of building and scaling high-performance sales engineering teams and provides an opportunity to join a diverse team of highly engaged critical thinkers.

  • Technology leadership: Technical vision and strategy for partners CTO/CXO priorities and based on industry direction and customer priorities
  • Team leadership: Define and drive a culture that will attract and retain the best system engineering talent in the industry. Coaching, mentoring, career pathing/development within and outside the direct team.
  • Partnership with sales leadership both inside the Specialists Organization and the direct/portfolio teams (Architecture Leadership, AVP, SED/SSEM, RM/SEM, AM/SE, etc.)

System Engineering Management Impact:

  • Establish and execute lightweight processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness to SE team.
  • Optimize organizational structure in partnership with Sales Leadership and align business priorities to improve bookings and minimize operational expenses.
  • Ensure execution of all engineering programs including technical sales process/closure, demand generation, and pipeline development.
  • Develop strategic engineering initiatives based on the priorities of the APJC / Japan partner organization
  • Engage BU, Architecture and Engineering stakeholders in influencing product direction and roadmap
  • Drive execution of New product launches and drive partner and customer mindshare
  • Engage with Partners and Field team in driving customer demands and pipeline
  • Engage with partners in building competencies and Cisco platform capabilities
  • Drive growth and revenue with partners through strategic engagement and initiatives

Technical and Presales Knowledge Impact:

  • Clearly articulate and navigate issues, challenges and gaps both technically from a business perspective and regarding people resources.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and customer priorities
  • Strong understanding of Cisco Technology and products
  • Understanding of industry products and competitive landscape is an added advantage
